Do you know someone who has big questions and doubts about Christianity? Or perhaps you are wrestling with big questions yourself? We invite you to join us at Questioning Christianity!
This is not a place for hostile debate, nor a place intended for mature believers to gain more knowledge, but rather a place where men and women with doubts, hang-ups, barriers, and/or questions about Christianity can process them without judgment.
It will be led by Andy Steiger, the director of Apologetics Canada, and Graham Nickel, one of the elders at Northview will be leading this group and will deal with 5 big topics including faith, morality, and purpose.
This is a 5-week class that starts on Wednesday, October 12.
In this introductory class, you will learn about Northview while exploring what we believe about God, the Bible, and the Church. Discover where you can get involved and become a part of the Northview community. This year, Foundations is one night only and will run multiple times a year. This class is also a prerequisite for our Membership Class.

Fall 2022 Bible Studies
Do you want to grow in your knowledge and relationship with God? Well, this is a great place to start! This Fall our Northview Men’s & Women’s study will be in the Gospel of Matthew. Women’s will also be offering a Precept Study in the Gospel of Luke. All studies have already started but you are welcome to join anytime!
It hurts to lose someone. Our GriefShare class is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. This group is led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. Each week will include a time of video teaching and discussion time.
At Northview, we want to hold to the Truth of our Biblical convictions while exhibiting heaps of Grace towards all people. This course, by Dr. Preston Sprinkle and his team at The Center for Faith, Sexuality and Gender, is designed to help us as Christians engage LGBTQ related questions through thoughtful written material, small group discussions, and high quality videos. Our Care Pastor, Thaleia Sawatzky will teach each week through a variety of the sticky questions brought up in the course material.
The readings for this course include both Preston Sprinkle’s “Grace & Truth” 1.0 and 2.0. If you are considering this course, register as soon as possible as space is limited. Registration is $25, which covers coffee, tea and both of the Grace & Truth books (books are yours to keep after the course).
On October 29, 2022 Nancy Guthrie will be coming to Northview to teach a Biblical Theology Workshop for Women! Nancy is a well-known Bible teacher, author and podcast host. She teaches and writes for the Gospel Coalition, hosts a podcast called “Help Me Teach The Bible”, and has written a number of books on grief and on how to study the Bible. We are excited to have her join us at Northview.
If you’re a woman who wants to know your Bible better, this workshop is for you! The Biblical Theology workshop helps us to understand the significance of Biblical Texts. Nancy describes it this way, “Over three sessions, we’ll review the key events of the Bible’s story and the major sections of the Bible. I’ll demonstrate telling the story of the Bible through the lens of one of its important themes. We’ll work together on tracing a few themes through the various sections of the Bible. Then we’ll look at the opening of each of the Gospels and discover how a growing understanding of major biblical themes adds to our understanding when we see those themes arise in specific passages of the Bible.” She promises that three sessions “will be energetic, interactive, and fun!”
We run several discipleship ministries here at NV – youth, NYA, CG’s, and Bible studies – and one of the consistent challenges we run into is having enough volunteer leaders to effectively run these ministries. To address that need, we have designed a year-long course for anyone who has interest in leadership development, with the eventual goal of serving as a leader in one of these ministries.
The course is broken down into three trimesters, starting September 2022 and finishing at the end of May 2023. We will meet on Sundays from 11-12:30pm and cover theology, bible study methodology, discipleship strategy and group dynamics.
The goal for this class is that by the end of the year, you will have all the necessary skills to step into leadership!
After a 2 year hiatus, we are excited to host Apologetics Canada’s conference at our Downes Road Campus once again. This is a 2-day event with speakers and breakout sessions. This year’s theme is BRANDED: Rethinking Identity.
