Childcare Employment
PART-TIME NANNY- We’re a warm single-parent family looking for part-time care for our 9-year-old daughter in Abbotsford- daytime and evening hours, with overnight stays as an option for anyone interested. We’re glad to hire more than one person. How it starts: Occasional weekday afternoons and weekend daytime or evening hours. This alone is a great fit for many people, and we’re happy to keep it that way long-term. If you’re interested in more, there’s the option to take on overnight stays once we all know each other well – typically after 4–8 weeks. Overnights average six nights a month, usually as two three-night stays, and involve sole overnight care including bedtime and school-morning routines. Hours shift month to month, so we’re glad to work around a school timetable or another part-time job. Duties include supervision, meal prep, driving for school pickup or extracurriculars, and a calm, caring presence. What we’re looking for: reliable vehicle, valid driver’s licence, and clean driving record. First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to get it (we’ll cover the cost). Some experience with kids – babysitting, camp, coaching, tutoring, or younger siblings all count. Two references, personal or professional. Non-smoker and non-vaper. We’re happy to support someone earlier in their caregiving career. We offer paid trial shifts, a schedule confirmed in advance, and we’re always reachable by phone. Compensation: $19–22/hour depending on experience. Overnight stays, if you take them on, are paid at a flat rate per stay. A self-contained suite is available to rent below market rate for the right long-term fit. Send a short intro with your experience and availability to nikol.house.d@gmail.com. (09/11)
NANNY WANTED (P/T)- We are looking for a loving, reliable, and experienced nanny to care for our two children, ages 3 and 1, starting in November. We are looking for someone who has previous nanny/childcare experience, is Christian and comfortable incorporating our faith and values into our home, has First Aid certification, or is willing to obtain it, is warm, patient, responsible, genuinely enjoys spending time with young children, and is comfortable caring for two children of different ages. This is a part-time position with a rotating schedule, as I work shift work. The schedule varies, but I receive my work schedule well in advance and would be able to provide the nanny with their schedule well ahead of time. Pay is negotiable based on experience. We’re hoping to find someone who can become a trusted and consistent part of our family and provide a fun, loving, and safe environment for our kids. If interested, please email Megan at meganjnickel@gmail.com. (08/28)

1 BDRM WANTED- I’m a working professional looking for a one bedroom, one bathroom place for myself and my well-behaved indoor cat. I’m looking for a long-term home and I would be a quiet and reliable tenant. If you see this and are looking for a female roommate, I’d be open to that too. Text me at 604-832-9228. (09/04)
HOUSING NEEDED- My roommate is moving, and my landlord is using it as the perfect excuse to sell the house earlier than they planned. I’ve lived here for 5 years, always paid rent on time or early and treated the place with respect. My landlord said he’d be a good reference for me. I’m a Christian, attend Pathway Church and I love Jesus. I’m also partially handicapped; I walk with a cane. I need somewhere accessible for me, with the neighborhood terrain accessible as well. And within a couple hundred metres of a bus stop. I also need enough space for my physiotherapy equipment and to do my exercises. I’m looking for a place in Abbotsford. My budget is $700-$800/month. If I could find a large room in a large place with some other Christian men, that would be ideal. I doubt I’d find a bachelor suite for that price, but I wouldn’t say no if the opportunity presented itself. If you know of something, please contact me at 778-957-8896 or mccalljacali@gmail.com. We are looking for a family situation where he can have a room, be provided with some meals, and ‘live’ from Monday after school until Friday mornings. We would pick him up from school on Friday afternoons, bring him home for the weekends, and then drop him back at school on Monday mornings. As he needs to have an address in the W.J. Mouat catchment area, we are looking for a place that meets that criteria (W.J. Mouat Catchment Map). Please contact Nicola Freebairn at 604-226-7123 or by email at nmfreebairn@gmail.com. (08/28)

CELEBRATE LIFE GALA- We’re only 7 weeks away from our Celebrate Life Gala. Because of your generosity and faithful support, our year has been filled with stories of hope and transformation. Every life impacted is part of a much bigger story. As we celebrate all that God has done this past year, we also look forward to the new chapter that is unfolding: one that will bring new opportunities to share hope, save lives, and strengthen families. We would be honoured to have you join us for an evening of inspiration, gratitude, and celebration as we reflect on the impact we’ve made together and look ahead with anticipation of all that God has in store. Previously, we announced our keynote speaker would be Kailee Perrin. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Kailee will be unable to join us for the event. We hope to bring you her story at some point in the future. That being said, we are excited to announce our new speaker, Denisha Workizer. She has an impactful story that will powerfully represent the mission of Advokate. As a survivor of two abortion attempts, Denisha offers a transparent and deeply personal perspective that humanizes the unborn and inspires audiences to champion the cause of life. With over 20 years of experience in corporate management, Denisha transitioned into ministry. Her organization, Reclaimed Story, helps women heal from painful pasts and find renewed purpose through Jesus. Her personal experience, professional insight, and faith-based encouragement leave a lasting impact on those she encounters. Join us on Thursday, October 15, at 7pm at the Abbotsford Ag-Rec Centre. We can’t wait to celebrate with you. Tables are available for purchase and will go fast, so don’t wait. Click HERE to purchase a table. (08/28)
