​​MCC BC CIRCLE OF FRIENDS- Circle of Friends is a new pilot program of the Mennonite Central Committee BC, modeled after MCC Ontario’s program, in which groups of 2-3 volunteers form a “circle of friends” around an individual transitioning from homelessness or shelter living back into the community. Circles meet once a week for activities such as going out for coffee, creating a budget, accessing the food bank, or attending a fitness class. Ultimately the goal of the Circle is to build positive relationships, decrease social isolation, and support participants as they reintegrate with the community. We are looking for volunteers to form the Circles, as well as a couple of Program Support Volunteers who will support the Program Associate in the initial stages of this pilot project.
