At Hope for Women Pregnancy Services, we serve clients and their families in Abbotsford, Mission, Aldergrove, Langley, and Chilliwack areas. We are non-medical in nature and do not perform or refer for abortions, but provide free self-administered pregnancy tests, options counseling, pregnancy information and support, ultrasounds, volunteer doulas for birth support, and ongoing friendship through our volunteer peer counselors. We also provide parenting support, and baby supplies (e.g. diapers, wipes, formula, clothing, etc.) for up to 2 years after the baby is born. Some of us are trained Post Abortion Counsellors so we offer post-abortion care and counseling for women who choose abortion, or for those around her who may have been affected by that decision. All of these services are free and available to everyone who visits our center and is offered in a completely confidential, safe, and non-judgemental environment. We believe that women deserve to be respected and valued no matter what they choose. We also believe that women have the right to be fully informed about their options so they can make a decision they are comfortable with, not only for the moment they’re in but for their futures as well. STROKE RECOVERY PROGRAM ASSISTANT – The local Abbotsford Stroke Recovery Program offers a community-based place for stroke recovery. They are designed to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors. CYRUS CENTRE HOUSE PARENTS – Cyrus Centre is looking for a married couple with either no children or grown children who can commit themselves to be full-time house parents. This would suit a couple where one member has outside employment or a retired couple. The Home is in Abbotsford on a bus route in a convenient location. Houseparents will provide a home environment for youth living in semi-independence, providing skills modeled in day-to-day living, skills necessary to live independently; living in community, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, recreation, problem-solving, respect of others, laundry and so on, basic day-to-day life skills. The successful couple will be provided with living accommodations, utilities, food budget, financial stipend, benefits, support and more. To apply, please pray about it first and ask questions of your friends and family; do they see you in this type of ministry? ON CALL DRIVERS – Inasmuch Community Society provides transitional housing, settlement services, customized employment counseling, and basic living support for up to six months following an asylum seeker’s arrival in BC.  Our folks often have to go to Vancouver to meet with lawyers, get their medicals or report to the CBSA.
