SECOND CHANCE LIFE RECOVERY THRIFT STORE- Money made from the store supports 4 houses for women at various stages of addiction recovery. We are in need of men and women to help move merchandise. There are jobs for everyone. Shifts are usually 4 hours Monday-Saturday (9:30-1:30 &1:30-4:30). We are currently closed on Mondays so volunteers can do extra cleaning and restocking without customers. Evening shifts for care groups, families, or other groups can be arranged. BIBLES FOR MISSIONS THRIFT STORE- Our thrift store volunteers sort the donations, price, and sell the items selected. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available including but not limited to: Cashiers, Greeters, Sorters, Pricers, Delivery drivers, Receivers and Merchandisers. Our volunteers offer their talents and interests to make a difference at home and abroad. We believe that Christians should use their gifts to make a difference in God’s world and are happy to do our part to see the kingdom of God grow and ultimately prosper! Most positions within our thrift store require a great attitude and willingness to serve. There are special requirements for delivery drivers (for insurance purposes) but otherwise, we encourage volunteers to sign up and let us know all of the areas within our store they feel they would be able to make the biggest impact. We then do our best to place them accordingly. We encourage new volunteers to commit to a weekly 4-hour shift to start. CANUCK PLACE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE- We are currently looking for Peer volunteers to support at our Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, in Abbotsford. Peer volunteers work alongside the professional care team to enhance the quality of life of the child with a progressive, life-threatening condition and his/her family. The Peer volunteers are with the children during activities, in the schoolroom, working with arts and crafts, on outings in the community, and generally are there to support the child and family with whatever activities they are doing.
