Membership gives believers a sense of belonging. By becoming a member, you accept responsibility for a group of fellow believers and you yourself become accountable to mature brothers and sisters in Christ.

Upcoming Membership Class
Looking to become a member at Northview? The Membership course is two parts. First, attend our Foundations Class. Next, attend our Membership class, offered the following week.
In Foundations, you will learn about Northview while exploring what we believe about God, the Bible, and the Church. Discover where you can get involved and become a part of the Northview community. Anyone is welcome at Foundations – whether you are new here or have been for years.
Our Membership class will walk you through the history of our church, and what it looks like to walk in committed community with one another, while deepening roots in Christ. To become a member of a church is to formally commit oneself to an identifiable, local body of believers who have joined together for specific, divinely ordained purposes.
Next Foundations Class: Thursday, Aug. 17, 7pm
Next Membership Class: Thursday, Aug. 24, 7pm

Why Become a Member?
- Membership gives believers a sense of belonging (Hebrews 10:23-25).
- By becoming a member, you accept responsibility for a group of fellow believers and you yourself become accountable to mature brothers and sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:1-2, 10; Hebrews 13:17).
- Membership keeps us legal. The government recognizes churches if they have a credible membership and organization. Obedience to these laws affirms we are responsible citizens with a desire to serve (1 Timothy 3:2; 1 Peter 2:13-17).
Membership Process
- Attend the Foundations Class, followed by the Membership class. Our goal is for you, the prospective member, to understand in much more depth the how’s and why’s of our church and for us to have a much better opportunity to know you. If you have to miss a class for any reason, you will be required to make it up the next time classes are run. Once these two courses are completed, you will fill out the Membership Application.
- Provide us with a letter of good standing if you were a member at another church.
- Be interviewed by an Elder or Pastor. After you have completed the Foundations and Membership classes, you will be invited to set up a membership interview with a Northview pastor or elder (engaged or married couples can meet together). Most interviews are held at the church.
- Agreement with Northview’s Statement of Faith, Mission and Core Values. Please read these ahead of time as they will be discussed during the course and you will be asked to sign a copy of our Covenant during your interview.
Being accepted into Membership at Northview is based on ‘membership qualifications’ and by the completion of the appropriate membership application.
After you become a Northview Member you will be asked to reaffirm every few years. It is a simple process that helps us get a pulse on the well-being of our members and find out how we can offer support where it is needed.
