God calls us to serve Him by serving one another. We are each uniquely created and shaped by God for that purpose. Part of belonging to a church family is learning to joyfully serve by helping each other grow in faith, supporting each other in our daily lives, meeting each other’s needs, and guiding people to lives of Gospel transformation.
Serving is also one of the best ways to get plugged into the community at Northview. Our Serve Teams get to know one another well and form long-term friendships.

How Can You Serve?
There are many opportunities to serve at Northview! Here are some of our locations’ top needs for you to consider.
Coffee Team: A team committed to creating a welcoming and relaxing environment where authentic connections can happen. The coffee counter is one of the first places people go once they arrive at church. In many ways, the Coffee Team members are also greeters!
Ushers, Greeters & Prayer Team: Each of our Hospitality roles has unique tasks, but they all come together with one goal: to serve the body of Christ. For our Saturday services, we’re looking to grow our Usher Team, Greeter Team, and Prayer Team. We’d love for you to join us!
Children’s Ministry: Our Children’s Ministry runs during weekend services and offers many ways to get involved! We are currently looking for Classroom Helpers and Leaders, Nursery Helpers, and Check-Ins. Beyond these roles, there are plenty of other opportunities to serve—there’s a place for you! See more here.
Imagine Ministry: Our Imagine Ministries provide supportive care during our weekend services for individuals of all abilities. We currently need 1:1 Buddies on Sundays at 9:00 AM for ages 2–11 and at 11:00 AM for those 12 and older. Don’t worry—you’ll receive all the training you need for these roles! See more here.
Food Services: Be a part of our weekly pre-service meal! Whether arriving early to prepare the food with our Kitchen Team, or serving the food to people as one of our Food Servers, it’s a great way to work as a team to create an atmosphere of hospitality while meeting an important need – dinner!
Children’s Ministry: Our kids programs are always looking for more help! The various roles include helping out with nursery, preschool, grade school, as well as being on our sub list, which doesn’t require consistent commitment. See more here.
Facilities: We always need an extra pair of hands helping with set up in the gym as well as providing site safety during the service. If you enjoy this type of work, let us know!
Tech Team: Our team works behind the scenes to ensure every service runs smoothly and with excellence. If you have a knack for the technical OR if you think you’d be good at hitting “next” on our lyric slides, we’d love your help!
Usher Team: A team that goes above and beyond to look for ways to serve guests and make them feel at home and comfortable. They actively help people find seats by walking them to an empty spot.
Children’s Ministry: Our Children’s Ministry runs during weekend services and offers many ways to get involved! We are currently looking for Age 2 Classroom Helpers, Grade 4 & 5 Classroom Helpers, and Grade 3 Leaders. Beyond these roles, there are plenty of other opportunities to serve—there’s a place for you! See more here.
Facilities: A team that makes everything happen! If you are an early riser, you will be a great fit on our set up team. We work together to set up chairs, place signage, and rearrange the classrooms used for Children’s Ministry. If you’d rather stay after our second service, we reset all the work from what we did in the morning!
Tech: Our Tech Team is directly involved in the production of our services. They assist with band setup for the morning sound check, run the soundboard, and manage the slides. No experience is needed – we’re happy to train and support you along the way!
Tech Team: Our Tech Team is directly involved in the production of our services! They assist with band setup for the sound check, run the soundboard, and manage the slides. Tech support is needed for almost every event we host, and we’d love for you to join us! No experience? That’s okay! We’re happy to train and support you.
Connect Desk: These individuals create a welcoming space for people to find information, ask questions, and explore the next steps in their discipleship. They are the friendly face behind the info area and they welcome newcomers.
Pantry Team: Every Sunday afternoon from 1-3 PM, we welcome the public to our drop-in pantry and serve a warm meal, free of charge. To keep this ministry running smoothly, we rely on volunteers in a variety of roles, including prep cooking, serving food and drinks, assisting guests with shopping, and helping carry groceries to their cars.
FAQs
After completing a Serve Card, you will receive an email from us with a link to our volunteer application form. Once you’ve submitted your application form, a Northview staff member will be in touch with you to begin the onboarding process.
We are so glad you’re here and that you want to use your gifts to serve at Northview! Before joining a Serve Team, we encourage you to take some time to get to know our church and make sure it feels like home. After three months of regular attendance, we’d be excited to help you find a way to get involved and to serve alongside us!
If you serve during weekend services, you can choose a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly commitment. Mid-week ministries (ie. Bible Studies, Youth, Young Adults) typically require volunteers to serve each time they meet, which is often on a weekly basis.
We suggest starting by serving at our weekend services, especially on our Hospitality Teams (Greeters, Ushers, Coffee, Connect Desk, and more). There are many options available, whether you prefer working behind the scenes or engaging with visitors at our services.
Absolutely! For most of our serving roles we want people to feel sure that they believe in Jesus and are serving the church as their family in the faith, but we do have a few opportunities where you can help out. If this is you, please email info@northview.org and we will be in touch!
A few of our roles require membership. If the role you’re applying for does, we’ll let you know, and a pastor will connect with you about the next steps to becoming a member at Northview.
