South Asia Trip 2025
We are so grateful to the Northview congregation for your prayers, encouragement, and generous support that made this trip possible. From the moment we arrived in South Asia, we were struck by the vibrancy and beauty of the region. The streets were alive with color, sounds, and activity, yet what left the deepest impression on us was the warmth and hospitality of the people. Everywhere we went, we witnessed a heart to serve one another, often in humble and sacrificial ways. It was inspiring to see families, teachers, pastors, and community leaders giving freely of their time and energy, motivated not by recognition but by a genuine love for God and others. This culture of service shaped everything we experienced on the trip and challenged us to consider how we serve in our own lives.
The ministry we partnered with is doing remarkable work across multiple areas. There is a school for young children, a discipleship training program, a pastors support network, a widows support network, and training programs for pastors throughout the region. We were humbled by the scale and intensity of their efforts and saw firsthand the many needs that accompany such broad ministry. While financial support is always valuable, we quickly realized that prayer and emotional encouragement are just as important. The staff and volunteers pour themselves into this work with incredible dedication, often in challenging circumstances, and their joy and faithfulness were contagious. Walking alongside them, we were reminded that ministry is not only about the resources we bring, but also about our presence, our prayers, and the willingness to serve wholeheartedly.
One of the highlights of the trip was building relationships with young people who are eager to grow in their faith. We spent time teaching them how to study the Bible and helping them understand what it means to be rooted followers of Christ. During one session, we watched as a small group of students excitedly shared what they had learned and asked thoughtful questions about living out their faith, and it was clear that seeds were being planted for a lifetime of spiritual growth. Another incredible experience was worshiping together with the students and staff. Their joy and sincerity in worship were contagious, and it was inspiring to lift our voices together across language and culture, united in praise to God. These moments were deeply rewarding, and the joy, curiosity, and heartfelt worship of the students reminded us why this work is so important.
Beyond the ministry work, the trip bore fruit in our own lives. Sharing meals, worship, and conversations with people from such different backgrounds reminded us of the universality of God’s love and the importance of community. We left with a deeper understanding of our own walk with Christ, a renewed appreciation for the faithfulness of those serving in challenging circumstances, and a strengthened sense of what it means to be part of God’s family. The connections made and lessons learned will continue to shape how we live and serve in our everyday lives.
Overall, this trip was an extraordinary opportunity to witness God’s work, to serve alongside people with hearts full of love, and to grow spiritually as a team. We are so thankful to everyone at Northview for making it possible and for partnering with us through prayer and support. Your generosity allowed us to experience the beauty of South Asia, the joy of serving, and the profound reminder that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ, called to love and serve one another wherever we go.
