God calls us to serve Him by serving one another. We are each uniquely created and shaped by God for that purpose. Part of belonging to a church family is learning to joyfully serve by helping each other grow in faith, supporting each other in our daily lives, meeting each others needs, and guiding people to lives of Gospel transformation.

Serving is also one of the best ways to get plugged into the community at Northview. Our serve teams get to know one another well and form long-term friendships.

JOIN A SERVE TEAM

To join a Serve Team at Northview, you must be a Christian who is growing in their faith, and a regular attender of Northview for at least 6 months.

Nursery, Preschool, Grade School: Our children’s programs run during the Saturday night and Sunday morning services. We are in need of people to serve in various roles during each of these services for all ages (6 months – Grade 5).

Imagine Service Opportunities: Imagine volunteers are needed to work in a team setting providing supportive care in the Imagine Center at the Saturday and Sunday services. Volunteers are also needed to provide inclusive support for participants in the typical classroom.

Middle or High School Youth Leader: Youth leaders are the backbone of youth ministry. They are the direct hands and feet of Jesus when it comes to the church ministry to youth. Leaders who love Jesus and share that love with students, create lasting meaningful relationships.

Production: Our teams work behind-the-scenes and have involvement in almost all areas of Northview. From weekend services, to events, there are many opportunities to serve in this area. ex. Sound, lighting, video, photography, mixing, set design, etc.

Kitchen: Saturday evenings work with a team serving once every 5 weeks helping to prepare, serve and clean up the Saturday evening meal. Also funerals and special events etc. We have a need for people who want to come in during the week and spend a couple of hours helping with miscellaneous kitchen needs. Prepare coffee and tea at weekend services for the Church Community and connect with those who like to drink it!

Hospitality Team: Welcome people at the door, direct them to where they need to go, seat them, serve at the connect desk and provide information as required.

Worship Ministry: Our worship ministry oversees the music and tech teams. If you are interested in serving in any of these areas, we would love to find a way to get you involved! This may include weekend services, weekday ministry events (young adults, youth, men’s, women’s, funerals, etc.) as well as occasional special events.

Weekend Prayer: Do you have a passion for praying for others? You can spend one service per weekend praying with and for people!

Nursery, Preschool, Grade School: If laughter, giggles, arrowroot cookies and soda crackers sound like a good time to you, you might find our Children’s Department a perfect fit. We highly value our Children’s safety and health, both physically and spiritually! If you love sharing about Jesus and God’s Word, we would love to hear from you! (6 months – Grade 5).

Sound techs, ProPresenter, and Camera Operators: Our team works behind-the-scenes to ensure every service runs smoothly and beautifully. We are always looking for more help since sound and projection operators are needed at almost every event.

Kitchen Special Events: Many hands are needed to make our special events a hit. From Drama’s or Newcomer’s Lunches to Christmas Eve services, many hands make light work. If you’re passionate about food, and would like to help serve in the kitchen, we’d love to hear from you!

Bakers: Do you like to bake? Northview ministries are always in need of pastries, squares and cookies to serve throughout the week. If you have time to come in and bake on weekdays, please fill out an application and let us know! Time and frequency can be catered to your schedule!

Worship Teams: If God has gifted you with musical or technical talent, we want you to be able to use it for His glory! This is a somewhat complex ministry with many moving parts and members. Our Worship Teams are utilized in a variety of ministries in addition to our weekend service including Youth and Special Events such as praise nights at our Spring and Fall bonfires.

Middle or High School Youth Leader: Youth leaders are the backbone of youth ministry and are needed not only during the weekend services, but there are also loads of opportunities to serve during our youth nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you’d like to be a youth teacher, role model, encourager, and friend, sign up today!

Welcome Team, Greeter, Ushers, Info Booth:
You don’t need a background in hospitality, but do need a smile and warm disposition! We’re always looking for positive people to welcome people to church. When people need more information about weekly programs and ministries, they head for our info kiosks. If you like to be in the know, we’re always looking for people who can step up and provide clarity for those who may have questions about all that goes on at Northview.

Coffee Team: Coffee doesn’t brew itself, and that’s why we need you! We have an awesome team of people who are looking for others to join them as they faithfully set up our beverage stations with fresh coffee and tea each weekend. Sampling cookies and fresh baked goods is often a “perk” of this job!

Communion: With an average of 400-500 people each weekend, Communion takes a lot of logistical care. We need lots of hands to help prep and distribute the elements during a communion service.

Community Groups: We are looking for men and women who are willing to serve as leaders of these groups. Leadership means shepherding a group of people as you yourself continue to model a life of repentance and following after Jesus.

Nursery, Preschool, Grade School: If you have a love for little ones and a heart for teaching them about Jesus and the Bible, we would encourage you to serve in our Children’s Ministry! There are many opportunities for you to get involved, from helping with Kid Check, to cuddling babies in the nursery, to facilitating activities for those in grade school.

Set Up, Tear Down: Our Facilities teams are what allow us to do what we do every Sunday. If you don’t mind an early morning start, set up is for you! Or, if you’re happy to stick around after the second service, tear down is the team to be on. Better yet – make it a family affair and put your kids to work. When it comes to tear down, it’s always “the more the merrier”!

Sound techs, ProPresenter: Our team works behind the scenes to ensure every service runs smoothly and with excellence. If you have a knack for anything and everything technical, please consider serving in this area!

Hospitality: Usher, Greeter, Connect Desk, Parking Lot, Bateman Shuttle Station. Do you love connecting with people, shaking hands, and making them feel welcome? This could be the place for you! Our hospitality team is diverse in its opportunities, from greeting people at the Bateman shuttle station to manning the Connect Desk, there’s something for every warmly dispositioned person!

Coffee: The coffee team is a great place for those who like a combination of behind-the-scenes prep, and face to face interaction. Plus, you get to smell freshly brewed coffee while you serve! Let us know if this is an area that interests you.

Baking: Do you love baking? Want to be part of the behind-the-scenes operation of what makes our Connect Time so special? Or maybe your family is looking for a way to serve together! Whatever your reason, don’t hesitate to join a baking team. Whether you’re baking or cleaning up after, you will be surprised how quickly the time went and how much fun you had!

Worship: If God has gifted you with musical talent, we want you to be able to use it for His glory! Tell us a bit about yourself and your abilities, and we’ll get you started on the appropriate application process.

Other: Prayer, Communion, Offering Counter, etc. There are several other ways to get involved at our campus! You could help prepare and serve communion, count the offering, or care for our congregation by praying with and for our people. Have other ideas? Let us know.

Hospitality Team – Greeters, Ushers, or Connect Desk: We’re always looking for friendly individuals to welcome people to church, point them in the right direction, and be available to answer their questions. If you appreciate contributing to church hospitality, let us know!

There are many ways to get involved, from helping with check-in and security, to cuddling babies in the nursery, to facilitating activities for those in grade school.
