Nepal Trip 2024

Nepal is a beautiful place with people yearning for Jesus. While on our trip, we met many people who were willing and longing to hear about the hope we have. We were able to easily make connections as we encountered people in our daily explorations in the city or on our trek in the mountains. Despite this openness, there were still some we encountered who had an emptiness in their eyes. It didn’t go unnoticed that in the West, our greatest problem is the neglect of God; in Nepal, the greatest problem is chasing after false gods.

Prayer is where it all begins. This is one of the biggest lessons we learned. Our translator shared his testimony, telling us that it started with the prayers of missionaries who came through his town. They prayed for the residents, one of whom was his mother, who was pregnant with him at the time. Thirteen years later, he met Jesus and was the first convert to Christianity in that village. Years later, there are many Christians in his hometown. What a wonderful testimony to hear. With that witness, we joyfully prayed for the villages we went through and the people we saw. Prayer changes things; Jesus changes people.

For some of us, the trip confirmed the desire to serve in missions. We also saw that missionary life can be hard when you’re away from all that is familiar and the support that you’re used to. Finally, having gone to Nepal, our hearts were softened for the people and the nation. We were quickened to pray for them earnestly, that Jesus would reveal Himself to the people and that they would be saved.

As a team, we want to express our sincere gratitude for your prayer and financial support. We felt genuine interest from the congregation and were aware that, while there, we were ambassadors for the Church and Jesus, and that we could not have done this by ourselves. We may never know the impact made on the people we met, but we know the impact of your support: it was felt and it will be remembered.
