This week, my six-year-old has spent multiple hours listening to the audiobook version of the Jesus Storybook Bible. When I asked her what she had learned from it, she told me that she had learned that “God is always with me!”

This week, we started our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies at Northview’s Mission, Chilliwack, and Downes Road campuses. As with last year, I have the privilege of leading our Abbotsford Men’s study. I saw in person how our men packed Centre Court this week for the introduction to the year of study, and I heard that our two sessions of women’s study were even larger – with nearly 1,000 people across all of our studies!

Most years, our Bible studies at Northview have been an inductive study of just one book of the Bible, but this year is different. It is an overview of the entire story of Scripture – the unfolding of redemptive history throughout all of time, past, present, and future. More importantly, though, it is a look at the Author of that redemptive history.

Each week, as we walk from the goodness of creation, to the tragedy of the fall, to the story of God’s people seeking redemption, and to the ultimate consummation of all things in Christ, we will be asking the question “what do we learn about God in this portion of His story?”. Indeed, the name of this study is “Know Your God” – and that’s just what we hope the outcome of this time together will be – that you would know Him better, and love Him more. And maybe, just maybe, you will learn that He is always with you too!
