Central Abbotsford

A Prayer for the People of Northview Central Abbotsford:

 

LORD, we love You;

teach us to love You more.

 

We confess that there are times when we have thought

too little of You;

both in terms of the time that we give to You, and

in terms of what we believe You can do.

We, far too often, look only to the moment in front of us,

our circumstances,

our struggles,

our trials,

And we do not see them for what they truly are:

Your providence for;

Your discipline to; and

Your sanctification of; 

Your beloved children.

 

Thank You, Lord

that You that You care for us;

that You are mindful of us;

that You made us a little lower than the heavenly beings.

Thank You, Lord, that

by no work of ours,

by no strength of ours,

by no merit of ours whatsoever,

You have granted to us a portion of Your glory, Your honour,

in Jesus’ great name;

for both our days on earth, and

for all eternity.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

 

Thank You, Lord

that You love Your church;

that You grant her to be clothed in purity; and

that You give the individual members of your church to minister to one another,

And to You.

 

Lord, knowing that 

You alone are the giver of all good gifts, 

we ask You to give what only You can,

for Your Name’s sake:

 

Create in us clean hearts;

Give us poverty of spirit and abundance of love;

Make us humble of heart and boastful in Jesus;

Teach us to rejoice in goodness and detest our sin;

Show us the freedom of forgiveness, both received and given;

Transform us into the image of Christ!

 

Lord, knowing that

You have placed us in this place, at this time,

we ask You to strengthen Your church and Your people,

at Northview Central Abbotsford:

Remind us that we are brothers and sisters in Christ;

Reveal to us the beauty of restored relationship with You and others;

Sanctify us in truth, honour, justice, purity, love, encouragement, excellence, and praise;

Keep us faithful to Your word and, moreover, faithful to our first love;

Provide us all that we need for life and godliness;

Create in us clean hearts.

 

Lord, You love us;

teach us to love You more.
