Why is God silent? Why does God allow evil to increase within a society? Why would God use an evil nation like Babylon to punish his people, Judah? Habakkuk is unlike most books in the Bible because the author addresses God rather than the people of Judah. In an honest dialogue with God, he discusses the problems of suffering and justice. Centuries later, we are still asking the same questions that Habakkuk asked. With our culture becoming increasingly hostile to Christianity, we can often look at our broken and evil world and wonder what God is doing in all of it. Does he still care about us?
