Northview High School Youth exists to disciple grade 9-12 students by teaching the Word of God and providing each student with a small group to form intentional relationships.

What We Do

Gather

NHSY meets every Thursday evening from 7-9:15pm. Typically, NHSY meets three times a month at the Downes Road Campus, and once a month off-site in core (small) groups. Our Campus nights begin with time to connect with high school students and leaders. Around 7:15 we begin our Worship service, which includes singing, praying and listening to the word of God preached. Next, we break off into core groups for small group discussion. The evening ends with more community time!! We typically have two campus nights a month. Our Grade Nights happen once a month. At these nights, students and leaders will get a chance to grow in friendship with students outside of their core group. Each grade night will consist of snacks, games and an intentional large group discussion about our sermon series. Our Core Groups are pre-assigned and are of the same grade & gender. Each group has 10-15 students and 2-3 leaders. Core groups provide every student with an opportunity to build intentional relationships with their peers and to be discipled by their youth leader. One Thursday a month, core groups meet off-site to hang in a different setting! We would LOVE for you to come Gather with us!

Grow

Jesus’ last words on earth were to his disciples, commanding them to go and make disciples, by baptizing & teaching them the word of God (Matt. 28:29-30). At NHSY, our hope is that every student will have the opportunity to GROW in their knowledge and love for God during their high school years. We recognize that GROWing can happen both inside and outside the church. We encourage you to take part in Northview’s opportunities for growth (bible studies, student leadership programs etc.), as well as spending time in God’s word at home.

Go

In Matthew 28:29-30, Jesus also commands his disciples to GO out into all the world & to make disciples of all nations. At NHSY we strive to encourage every student to do the same – to go out to their communities, schools, workplaces and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We believe our role as a church is not only to gather people but to encourage them to scatter into the whole world, both locally and globally

Missions Trips

This upcoming spring break, Northview High School Youth is going on a missions trip back to Vancouver Island! Our trip will be over the week of March 18-25, 2027 at two different locations. We will spend the first few days (March 18-21) on the small island community of Ahousaht, and then head to the north part of Vancouver Island to visit Sayward Christian Fellowship in Sayward, BC (March 21-25). We’ll run day camps and serve these communities in all sorts of other ways as well! More information can be found at the top of the application form. If you have any questions, reach out to Sam (sthiessen@northview.org).

Bible Study

Wednesdays | 7pm – 9pm

Do you want to study the Bible, but aren’t sure where to start? Join us as the NHSY team will be leading a bible study on Wednesday evenings in the youth lounge (B03). Over the past few years, this Bible study has been a quality time of community, prayer and the Word. At NHSY we like to do the same book of the bible that our men’s and women’s study does to help foster meaningful conversation between parents and their students. There is no homework involved in this study – just show up, and we’ll dive in together! Invite your friends- we can’t wait to see you there!

** Note: this is for BOTH guys and girls!
