LIVE IN PT NANNY – Starting January 2019 I will be going back to school in a full time program. My husband works shift work which is two days, two nights and then four days off. The part time position would rotate with my husbands schedule. Currently, we have a our 4 year old boy and 2 year old girl in daycare. This position would be: Morning care 6:30am – 8am Getting the children breakfast, dressing them and taking them to daycare. Afternoon care 4:30-6:45pm, picking the kids up from daycare, put dinner together, feed the kids, and start getting the kids ready for bed. We would know your schedule a month in advance. DRIVER/PET WASTE COLLECTION – The job involves driving from customer to customer removing a bag containing dog waste from each customer’s bucket and line the bucket with a fresh bag. CANUCK PLACE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE: Canuck Place Children’s Hospice is British Columbia’s pediatric palliative care provider. Over 728 children living with life-threatening illnesses and families receive care from Canuck Place through outreach programs and two provincial hospice locations: Vancouver and Abbotsford. Services include medical respite and family support, pain and symptom management, 24-hour phone consultation support and in-house clinical care, music, art and recreation therapy, education, grief, loss, and bereavement counselling, as well as end-of-life care. Through the investment of the community, our talented team, and over 370 energetic volunteers, we make a lasting difference in the lives of children and the families who love them.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS VOLUNTEER WORK – We are a telecommunications company that does a lot of volunteer work for ministry groups. Some of the work is out-of-town, however, all your costs will be covered. Lately, we have worked at MCC-Powell River, Camp Squeah, Camp Homewood (Quadra Island) and Kawkawa Camp. The type of work varies but is mostly to do with communications. You will be able to handle tools, use computers, and climb ladders, as needed. We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, and depending on your attitude, this may turn into an actual employment opportunity. HOPE FOR WOMEN PREGNANCY SERVICES – Hope for Women Pregnancy Services in Abbotsford, BC’s fastest growing Crisis Pregnancy Centre, is in need of Volunteer Peer Counselors! We will be offering training in the new year. All necessary certification and training are provided for volunteers who qualify and can commit for a period of at least one year for 3 hours every week or two. ABBOTSFORD COMMUNITY SERVICES – We are looking for volunteers to mentor a vulnerable youth in our community through Abbotsford Community Services with the Mentorship Project for 1-2 hours a week. Mentors provide a safe and caring place for youth to engage in positive activities and a healthy relationship with non-judgmental support. Mentors must be at least 19 years, able to commit to at least 1 year and access to a vehicle is an asset. TABOR COURT – Tabor Court is an Assisted Living Facility in Abbotsford that provides care and support for over 110 seniors. Tabor Court, a part of Tabor Village, offers housing and health services appropriate to individual needs. Personal assistance and health care services are provided in an environment of Christian nurturing and fellowship. Tabor Court is in search of amazing Volunteers to: Facilitate Active Games and Mind Games with Tenants, Lead Music Sing-Alongs or do Music Performances, Help with Gardening around the building, Read to Tenants, One to One Visits with Tenants, Baking with Tenants, Assisting with Movie Nights, Assist with Serving Coffee during Coffee Times, Assisting with Food Services and Special Events, Assisting with Housekeeping and Laundry, Volunteers will participate in Recreation, Activities with Tenants of Tabor, Court, providing a warm environment where everyone who wishes to participate is welcomed and encouraged. Qualifications & Commitments: You enjoy socializing and providing “Care from the Heart”, You are interested in gaining experience working with older adults living in an Assisted Living Building. TELECARE CRISIS AND CARING LINE – Do you have a background in public relations or marketing? Would you be willing to donate your skills and a few hours per week to the Telecare Crisis & Caring Line? We could really use your creative ideas and social media input! OR Are you a people person who loves to meet others? We need someone or a few people who would be willing to go into the community to promote what we do and drop off brochures. HOPE FOR CHILDREN THRIFT STORE – We are currently in need of volunteers for the Hope for Children Thrift Store in Langley. Even a few hours a week would be a huge blessing and help the children that we support. Store hours are: 9:30am – 4:30pm, Monday through Saturday. The store is located at 20211 56th Ave (downtown Langley). This Thrift Store ministry is a great asset to Children of Hope as all their proceeds go to help ministries in Mexico. DRIVERS FOR MCC BC MATERIAL RESOURCE WAREHOUSEWe’re looking a couple of people to drive to assist with delivery and pickup for our warehouse. No special license required for driving our vans. You would usually be accompanied by a service worker or another volunteer. Familiarity with the local communities of Abbotsford, Mission and Chilliwack is helpful. M2/W2 ASSOCIATION/PRISON MINISTRIES & HIDDEN TREASURE THRIFT STORE – M2/W2 was founded in 1966 in response to the call of Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:36 to visit prisoners. The prison mentorship program is at the core of the ministry. Men and women volunteers are matched with prisoners to provide a one on one mentorship relationship. Currently we have over 200 volunteers in mentoring relationships and over 300 inmates that are waiting to be match with a community volunteer. SALVATION ARMY – The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to assist in various capacities at our Abbotsford location. Current opportunities include: preparing and serving lunch to the needy in our Meal Centre (Sat 8:00 – 2:00, Sun 8:00 – 12:00) serving breakfast to and assisting clients in our Drop-In Café (Tues, Thurs, Fri 8:00am – 12:00) serving dinner to shelter clients (Sun, Mon, Sat 5:00 – 7:00pm) assisting with the Seniors Day Program (Wednesdays, 9:30 – 3:30).
