Selah: An NYA Worship Night
We invite you to join us for our first NYA Worship Night, which we are calling “Selah.”
Selah means to “lift up or exalt”, and is used many times in the book of Psalms as a pause after a verse for contemplation or meditation. It is a prompt to praise God for the truth of WHO He is and WHAT He has done for us in light of Scripture; which really is the purpose of a worship night.
A passage that frames this word well is Psalm 62:5-8: “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
