Parenting Anxious Teens
(Age Range: ALL)

The number of teens struggling with their mental health is on the rise. For many parents, that is far more than an interesting stat – it’s an anxiety-provoking reality! It can feel overwhelming to walk alongside our anxious teens and respond in ways that seem to make a difference but the journey starts with understanding. Speaking from her own family’s story and her experience as a mental health educator, Iona will offer perspective and responses for restoring hope in the middle of the storm.

Parenting Right Without the Manual
(Age Range: 0-11)

Proper family discipleship begins with putting God first. When we think about family discipleship we need to be thinking about the end goal – the day when our kids will stand before the judgment seat of God. In this session we will look at the big picture: God’s purpose & plan for families, how parents can set discipleship foundations in our homes that point our kids to Christ, and answer questions such as, “Why do children reject the gospel?”, “What is the relationship between God’s sovereignty and a parent’s responsibility?” and “What are the differences in mom and dad’s role”?

Discipline that Disciples
(Age Range: ALL)

Discipline is one of God’s gifts that He’s given us in order to parent biblically and effectively. In this session we will set the foundation from Deuteronomy 6 for the great commission given to parents in terms of making disciples of their children. We’ll examine how sin has an everyday impact on our homes, ourselves and our kids, using a biblical framework to explore the roles and responsibilities of parents and children, and discuss strategies to be used as we parent through different seasons of life. Let’s remove the negative connotation of the word ‘discipline’ in light of His Word and instead use it as a way to love the children He’s given us.

What Does ‘Talking About Sex’ Really Mean?
(Age Range: ALL)

Sitting down to talk with our kids about sex has changed. It’s no longer “the talk”. We now face the challenge of helping our kids navigate what having a biblical view of sexuality really means, where it might conflict with the rapidly shifting cultural messages around us, and ultimately how we can disciple our kids toward an understanding of God’s design for sex.
