Abbotsford Food Bank

The Abbotsford Food Bank is much more than a food bank. They are most known for their consistent impact on our community for providing temporary and supplemental food assistance for thousands of people in Abbotsford. That’s not all they do though.  They also run the Christmas Bureau, offer a free dental clinic, the Basics for Babies program, the High Protein Program, distribute Abbotsford Cares Cards, a Garden Box, help provide Extreme Weather shelter and, most recently, the REAL Mentoring program.  Under the leadership of Dr. Dave Murray, the Abbotsford Food Bank is serving our city with love and diligence. Their operation is dependent on support from the community and they operate on a “string” financially.  It is our honor and privilege as Northview to be one of the many supporting churches in Abbotsford. The Salvation Army - A Centre of Hope

The Salvation Army ... a centre of hope! At their location on Gladys Avenue in Abbotsford, British Columbia, they are hard at work endeavouring to help the poor, the homeless, the addicted, the hungry, the lonely, and the forgotten – people who are experiencing challenges with the basic necessities of daily living in our city. They make it their concern to feed people, care for them, and help them find the path to wholeness. They want to tell people about the love of God, but know people can’t hear the message when they are hungry and hurting.

Cyrus Centre

Cyrus Centre was opened to help meet the basic needs of at-risk, homeless youth and their families.  It is an inner city mission, providing a safe and welcoming place for youth to get food, shelter, do laundry, have a shower, receive referrals, advocacy and exit the streets.  Most importantly, it is a place where relationships are built with supportive volunteers and staff.
