Mission Summary

Ivan is tremendously influential, sort of like hereditary “royalty” and he uses that ceaselessly for Christ.  He still does some counseling and work with Esperanza on the west coast of Vancouver Island, though not on site as much.  Esperanza means “hope” in Spanish and many have indeed found hope there.  No longer a medical mission, Esperanza, its staff and volunteers, remain steadfast to the calling of community, refuge and service. 

Ivan was one of the major players in the national First Nation response to Prime Minister Harper’s apology, and his wife, Victoria, is working to preserve their Native language. 

Prayer Requests

• Pray for the Wells’ as they are currently in Port Alberni caring for Victoria’s mother - an appropriate thing to do, particularly among their people.
• Ivan & a colleague are praying about the possibility of going into the villages to search out the believers there and find potential leaders.  Their dream is to raise them up to be the pastors / preachers / ministers in their villages.  Pray along with them about this.  The villages are about 100-300 miles away from Port Alberni.  It will take funds to get this started.
