Mission Summary

At Rain Forest International School (RFIS) in Cameroon, Africa, there is a sense of excitement. At long last there are actually plans being put in place to move to our new school in July 2010. There is a sense of accomplishment in having finally reached the point of moving, even though we’ve had to cut back buildings and finishing details from the original plans.  As the new buildings are prepared for their new occupants, work continues on the fundraising and details of the student center, covered basketball court, auditorium and other areas to we still hope to develop.
Although I am currently on home assignment in Canada, I am thrilled by the work being done on the new school and look forward to returning and taking on the role of director (principal) of the school again. It is exciting to hear stories of recent Bible dedications in Cameroon and of the other ministries in which people are able to remain engaged because of the presence of RFIS.  God has been so good to us. He allows us each to take part in giving his Word to the almost 2500 people groups around the world and the 80 in Cameroon that do not yet know that God speaks their language.
Over the last 8 months it has also been exciting to be reaching out to young Canadians and seeing them excited about the task of Bible translation. The compassion and enthusiasm that these young people have for those less privileged than themselves is a lesson and encouragement to me. May God continue to equip and raise up Canadians to take his Word to the unreached peoples of the world, using the skills and talents he has given each of them.

Prayer Requests

Praise God for his provision for my needs in this year of home assignment and for my return to Cameroon in May.
Pray that he will continue to provide long-term monthly partners.
Praise God that RFIS will be moving to our new site in July 2010.
Pray that we will be able to do the finishing on the buildings and continue to develop the areas of the project where we had to cut back.
Praise God for his abundant blessings in the form of friends and family, many of whom I have been able to visit in the past 8 months.
Pray that my appreciation of God’s goodness will continue to grow.
Praise God that he is sovereign and has all the details of my future in his hands.
Pray that God will clearly guide me as I prepare for my return to Cameroon and to RFIS: that I would learn to lean on him daily for wisdom, creativity and compassion.
