Northview Community Church exists to make disciples. This is the command Jesus gives to each Christian as recorded in the Great Commission, Matthew 28:18-20: Then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Northview seeks to fulfil this commandment both locally and globally. Locally, our strategy is to proclaim the gospel in culturally relevant ways and to show the love of God to the people in our community by performing acts of justice and mercy. Globally, our strategy is to establish local churches where none exist. In turn, these churches can then proclaim the gospel in culturally relevant ways and show the love of God to the people in their community by performing acts of justice and mercy.
If our strategy sounds fairly simple, it’s because it is. However, the actual work requires much prayer, financial resources to support these works, and people committed to serving both locally and globally.
How can you be involved with Northview in this most important work?
- Pray. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be preparing people to hear the gospel.
- Support. Your tithes and offerings provide the needed materials, buildings, and people who serve in our outreach efforts.
- Serve. Each one of us is called to make disciples. Simply being an observer is not an option. Look for areas to serve locally. There are plenty of opportunities to serve both within the church and in our community. If you are unsure where to start, talk to anyone of the pastors, fill out a Serve card and drop it off at the info booth, or check out our website here.
If you are interested in serving globally, connect with one of our pastors or contact the Missions Department. We will work with you to discern how and where God may be calling you to be involved in church planting outside of our local community. We will then be able to support you with training, resources, and funding as you seek to fulfill the Great Commission in another community.
