SUNDAY MORNINGS – WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT

Doors are always open early, so feel free to come early for a cup of coffee or tea. We encourage you to find us in the lobby on a Sunday for answers to questions and to find out ways to connect.
We have a pretty straightforward purpose: we want to grow deeper in our love for God, warmer in our love for each other and wider in our love for our world. Before the service join us in the front lobby for coffee or tea! We’re contemporary, but we value tradition. We’re casual, but not about our faith. We value personal study and application of God’s word to life and presenting the Gospel clearly and creatively. Our goal is to see people personally and passionately follow Christ.

Things For Kids On Sundays

Nursery

Check In
If you’re visiting for the first time someone can help you create a KidCheck account. KidCheck will print out a sticker for both you and your child. These stickers serve two purposes.

  • Parent Paging – If we need you during service, the number on your sticker will be displayed.
  • Child Pick-up – You must present your portion of the sticker before we release your child.

Lil’ Sprouts Nursery
Our nursery is for babies and toddlers from 6 months – 24 months.
Children can be dropped off before the service as space allows. It opens 5 minutes before each service starts. The nursery is to the right when you walk in the front door.

A Precious Miracle:
Your child is a beautiful gift from God and we are here to care for and love your baby or toddler. We also are excited to help introduce your child to their Creator through play, songs, and stories.

Our Nursery features:

  • Carefully enforced check-in system with a pager number
  • Strict enforcement of caregiver/child ratios: Adults 1:3 and teens 1:2
  • Weekly cleansing and disinfecting of toys

Pre School

A place where children ages 2 – 4 learn foundations of faith through Bible stories, prayer, singing, scripture memory, and activities.

Each week your child will be welcomed by caring and compassionate teachers and helpers. Your child will participate in singing, Bible lessons, a puppet show, activities, crafts and Bible memorization. The activities and crafts relate directly to the Bible story and allow the volunteers to re-tell and reinforce the Bible lesson.

At Northview Church, kids are important. We are committed to meeting their needs for love, security, understanding and acceptance in a world that is unstable, competitive and sometimes violent. Our programs are kid-oriented, our teachers, coaches and supervisors are carefully chosen and our curriculum is Biblically sound. It is a privilege to care for your children here. Together as a team, we are growing tomorrow’s leaders. Let’s give them the best. Let’s give them Jesus! After all, they are HIS kids!

Grade School

Here we seek to sow seeds of faith in our children by teaching God’s Word, modeling godly character and displaying Christ’s Love.

Children register for class as early as 15 minutes before service. Children then worship with their parents in the sanctuary for the first 10 minutes of the church service.  After the children are dismissed from the church service, parents can take children to the various classes for a time of activities, Bible study, worship and prayer. Our children are taught the Word of God using Discipleland curriculum.

Each week the kids are given a memory verse to memorize. We use the NlrV Bible as it is very kid-friendly. This Bible is available for purchase at church for $25.

All volunteers are carefully screened and trained in safety and security procedures.

Child Dedications

You are beginning a beautiful journey. The Lord has blessed you with a very precious gift, and now you begin the significant task of raising your child to know, love, and obey the Lord God. You are not alone. At Northview Church, we are committed to helping our parents because we know it is an important job…an overwhelming task! But most of all, it is a calling by God to all parents to love, care for and teach His children, that they may grow to walk with Him all the days of their lives.

Child dedications are held three times a year. All parents must attend a child dedication class with Pastor Laura prior to the child dedication service.

Middle School

Higher Ground: Weekend Discipleship Class
Higher Ground is a time for middle school youth to dig into the Bible; to learn and study God’s Truth. It is an opportunity for students to discuss what it means to have your life anchored in a Biblical worldview. Higher Ground classes take place during the weekend services. Please sit in the service and wait to be dismissed prior to the sermon. Higher Ground meets in the basement classroom.
