Mission Summary

Andriy and his wife, Lyuda, are a vibrant couple that uses their home as an avenue of ministry. As part of their involvement in the Baptist church, they give leadership to a ‘Family Group’ involving 10 couples which functions much like the pastorates at Northview. Besides providing leadership to this group they are very intentional in their outreach into the community, utilizing the gifts of the group members. National holidays provide good opportunities to invite the unsaved neighbours and friends to celebrations and picnics which can include as many as 150 people of all ages; many who have been befriended in this way have come to a saving faith. In the past few years they have used the Alpha program to reach into the community with the help of the ‘Family Group’ members; making home visitations is a regular part of their weekly activities. Besides working effectively as a couple they have the unique opportunity to involve their children, Mark (9) and Zlata (11) in music ministry.

Another growing ministry is to young people who are being drawn into Christian fellowship through social and friendship activities in their home. This has opened the doors for Andrei to speak in public schools and colleges on a number of social issues, like drinking, drugs, and sex from a Christian perspective.

Andriy is very well connected with many churches in Ukraine and is frequently called upon to preach; he also conducts seminars on ‘Discovering Your God-Given Gifts’ and is often asked to teach at the Zaparozhye Bible College and the Donetzk Christian University.

Prayer Requests

• Pray that the Alpha program and the social activities with the youth will bring people to the Lord.
• Pray that the focus in the church will be on Biblical truth rather than on tradition.
• Pray for wisdom as they provide leadership in a new church that is being started.
