Mission Summary

The Ruth Center was started on 2008. We work with the low income families and communities to effectively improve the quality of life of the elderly aged 60 years old in the midst and seek long term solution to their care. We help the elderly in many aspects of life:

Physical: Help provide with basic necessities, assist the elderly in getting life pensions and help repair or rebuild their houses or side walk.
Mental : Spending time being a friend that they can talk to and talk with. We help make life more fun and healthy for them like taking them to get some fresh air at a park
Spiritual : Showing the elderly the love that God has given us for them and sharing with them about where this love comes.

We are actively looking for new ways to be most effective in what we do. This year we will start a new project, Dream Project. Our desire is to give hope to the elderly and help them see themselves as valuable contributors to their family and community. Dream Project is a way for the elderly to earn some money by using their sewing skills. The products (t-shirts, Thai fisherman pants and fabric bags) are designed by Ruth Center staff and volunteers, and hand sewn by elderly ladies who live in slum communities.
