Mission Summary

Peter and his wife have been ministering in the village of Isobeelno in the Crimea, Ukraine since May 2002.  The work began by inviting the local residents of this small unchurched village, about 1200 people, to the showing of the ‘Jesus’ movie in May, 2002. A Bible Study was started in one of the rooms of the house that had belonged to the ancestors of a Northview family. The group outgrew that facility and purchased a house which now serves as their meeting place for services as well as their home. Regular attendance is between 35 and 40 but will swell to 60 on special occasions. 

Although Peter & Valentina are not from this village, they moved there shortly after they began to minister so they could gain the trust of the villagers. They are both very hospitable; home visits are frequently made. Besides having regular Sunday services, they have weekly Bible Studies in several villages.  Peter has a good rapport with the school officials and frequently visits classrooms with Christian videos and Bible lessons. Working with youth and children is also a vital part of their ministry. Through financial help from abroad, he was able to acquire a tractor and a combine; these he uses as a means of supplementing his income and ministering to the spiritual needs of the people he works with.  He had the only van in town so he had many opportunities to be involved with the people as the need arises but it can’t be used any more because of its age.
