Mission Summary

As missionaries with Greater Vancouver Youth for Christ/Youth Unlimited, we operate a youth ministry training school called Lifeteams.  It focuses on equipping college age students to go out and make a life changing impact on their world because of the impact Jesus has made on them.  We specifically focus on involving students in ministry with “at-risk” teenagers, ones that wouldn’t likely find their way inside the doors of a church unless someone stepped into their world and led them to Jesus. 

Our mission is to engage the hands, heads and hearts of young leaders in the challenge of reconnecting this generation of teens to Jesus. In a regular week students are involved in about 8 hours of classes and 15 hours of youth outreach, as well as regular servanthood experiences with the homeless and the disadvantaged.  And as our students are impacting the world around them, God is faithfully shaping them.

For us, the biggest joy and challenge has been the mentorship component of Lifeteams.  We meet with each student weekly and walk along side of them as they journey closer toward the heart of God.  That’s not always an easy walk yet the joy of seeing people do the hard thing that God places before them and then find the freedom that brings is so good.

We love what we do.  But even more than that, we love what we see God doing.  Thank you, Northview, for the part you have in changing lives through Lifeteams.

Prayer Requests

• One of the places our ministry has grown into is involvement with the youth of the Chilcotin First Nation in the Nemiah Valley. We pray that as our teams of students continue forming relationships with the youth there, young leaders will be developed that will spread the love of God to their people.
• Pray that as a family, we would continue to hold everything we have with open hands before God.
• Pray that we would have Godly wisdom and listening ears, leading the students as we are being led by God.
