Mission Summary

Whistler is considered the #1 resort destination in the world. Our local population is 10,000 and we have 4 million visitors per year. We also have 3000 University students working on the mountain per year. This contributes to many people that need to be awakened to Kingdom reality. Our hope is that Church on the Mountain would be a place that would influence the community of Whistler through our involvement within the community. We have leadership staff (missionaries) working in local venues, volunteering in youth centers, and starting local businesses. We hope to be light in this place.

Presently, we have 80 people attending our church service, which is great—but really our heart is for the relationships that form outside the church in our everyday lives. It is a challenging place, as Whistler is also referred to as the party capital of Canada. It is incredible to see how many people can get lost here, but God grabs ahold and sends them to us to be loved and cared for. It has also been a blessing to see how many people God has sent here to simply be a part of the community…to be discipled in their faith before returning home.

Prayer Requests

• Balance of family and ministry, we tend to have a bit of a revolving door.
• Financial support increase for life and ministry (our goal is $7,000/monthly, our current status is $4,000/monthly which covers church operations and basic living.)
• Forming community in the midst of a transient church and culture.
• Missionaries to move here and give their lives for others.
• To continue to form avenues/projects towards Global Social Justice issues.
