Mission Summary

This is a year of celebration for OnTrack – our 10th anniversary. OnTrack began as a local ministry organization to encourage pastors, to promote the concept of healthy church and to preach the importance of leadership development among Chinese churches in Canada. The ministry has extended to Australia and Southeast Asia.  It is my conviction that strong leaders and healthy congregations are required to sustain a missional church multiplication movement. Hence leadership has become OnTrack’s single focus.

The following is a sample of events organized by OnTrack in the past decade:
1. Over 20 professional seminars for senior pastors. 
2. Leadership training for over 3000 pastors and church leaders. 
3. Some 200 hundred plus healthy church training and congregational health assessment events.
4. Partnered with several seminaries to develop leadership programs and taught master and doctoral level courses
   
Last year, the Lord gave us the opportunity to “minister” to leaders of the educational field in Hong Kong. We are really excited for we know educators are people who influence the future of society.  Over the past 18 months, I have led several coaching seminars, personal growth seminars and leadership development seminars for principals and middle-level administrators of more than 80 schools under the sponsorship of the education department in Hong Kong.
   
Due to the decline in student population and frequent changes in government policies, administrators and teachers in Hong Kong are experiencing tremendous stress which has resulted in low morale.  In this atmosphere, God gave me an opportunity to encourage and support educators through teaching and coaching. Although most of the trainees are not Christians, they are very receptive to my value-based (Christian) teaching and some are potential good soil for the seeds of the gospel.
   
In one class, I quoted a story from the gospel according to John to illustrate a certain leadership characteristic - encourage the hearts of the followers. I shared about Jesus’ appearance to the disciples by the Sea of Galilee after his resurrection. Instead of confronting the disciples for not being faithful to him, Jesus prepared breakfast for them. He knew the disciples were disillusioned and discouraged. The breakfast was a concrete way of encouragement. After the story, one of the school administrators wept and she is a Buddhist!
