Role of Men & Women

A study conference on the topic of "The Role of Men & Women in the Church"

Overview:

During the past year, the Council of Elders (COE) has been studying the role of the elder as described in the New Testament. As a result of this study, the COE recognizes the need to change the way we operate in order to bring the eldership in line with a more Biblical understanding. One of the changes is the decision to restrict the office of elder to men. This is not meant to preclude women from serving in leadership in the church. In fact, the goal is to expand the presence of women in leadership in Northview in all areas except for the office of elder.

In order to facilitate a better understanding of this topic, we invite you to participate in a study conference focused solely on the topic of “The Role of Men and Women in the Church (and Elsewhere)”. Below is a list of reference material that is recommended prior to the conference.  The conference will present both the Complementarian and the Egalitarian viewpoints and provide time for discussion:
