Building Update

STATUS

We have walls!  Finally work is underway at full speed.  We have experienced delays in the permit process as well as with the relocation of some utilities.  However, these have now been resolved and we are pouring concrete.  Here is a point form update:

Phase 1 parking lot expansion is complete.
Phase 2 maintenance shop is complete.
Phase 3 Ministry Centre:
- Anticipated completion date is now November, 2012.
- Water main extension on Downes Road is expected to be complete by the end of December.
- Basement floor is expected to be poured next week.
- Tilt up panels are expected to be lifted in March.  You will want to be on site to see that (not too close though).

FINANCES

General giving to the end of November was $1,937,000.  This is $208,000 below budget, but also $243,000 higher than last year at this time.  Giving designated for the building was $105,000.  It is encouraging also to note that while giving has increased significantly to fund the construction of the Ministry Centre, other areas of support have not suffered.  Our Care Fund giving is higher than last year at this time and we have increased our missions support this year. 

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please continue to pray for all of the work that the Lord is doing in and through the lives of the Northview church congregation.  For the building project in particular, please pray for:
- wisdom for all involved with the project that we make decisions which will best enable the ministry that will happen within this facility.
- good weather to allow us to continue in a timely and efficient manner.
- safety for all of the workers who will be working on the site.
- continued faithfulness and generosity of all who are giving sacrificially to this project.

PRAISE to God who continues to draw in weekly people from Abbotsford who have not yet accepted Christ as their saviour.

Northview Community Church Building Project - Advance notice for Sub Trades and Suppliers

Qualified bidders will be provided with the Tendering Policy for the project, which outlines the process for receiving bids and dealing with donations offered by way of reduced tender price and gifts in kind.

FINANCES

We are thankful and very encouraged by the faithful giving of all who call Northview home.  As of last weekend (April 2-3) our year to date general offerings totalled $3,540,000.  While this is $268,000 below budget, this does not include the designated building offerings of $485,000.  As of March 31, we have approximately $2,250,000 of cash reserves to be applied towards the cost of the building.  Lord willing, we will have raised over 50% of the cost of construction by the time the facility is completed.
