Food Bank Volunteer Takeover – Saturday, June 22, 8:00am-12:00pm

The Abbotsford Food Bank serves 4400 individuals per month. This equates to roughly $210,000 worth of distributed food every month.  Food insecurity is in every community – families, single parents, seniors, our friends and neighbours. Caring for the oppressed and disenfranchised is an outflowing of the Gospel’s influence in a believer’s life. Mercy ministries, like combatting food insecurity, are a very practical way to serve and are a powerful way to reflect God’s presence in our lives.

For one day, Northview Community Church will be organizing a “volunteer takeover” at the Abbotsford Food Bank! The goal is to provide our congregation with practical opportunities to serve while at the same time, developing a vibrant relationship between Abbotsford Community Services and Northview Community Church.

Northview volunteers will fill all essential roles at the Food Bank such as:
• Delivering food for seniors
• Packing food hampers
• Collecting food donations (drivers)
• Handing out food at Food Bank
• Providing basic dental services
• Creating content for social media platforms
• Sorting food donations at the warehouse
