We are excited that you’re interested in being a part of our technical teams at Northview! It is a fun, challenging, and rewarding ministry. If God has gifted you with technical talent, we want you to be able to use it for His glory!

We have involvement in almost all areas of Northview, so there is a large group of people that serve the many parts that make Northview function. Our team works behind-the-scenes managing sound, projection, cameras and computers.

Kids Abbotsford

 

Nursery, Preschool & Grade school

Our children’s programs run during the Saturday night and Sunday morning services. We are in need of people to serve in various roles during each of these services for all ages (6 months – Grade 5).

If you love kids and you love teaching them about Jesus and God’s Word, we would love to hear from you!

Punjabi Connection

  • ESL Teachers & Facilitators: Sundays, 3:00-5:00pm
    Teach or tutor English as a Second Language (ESL) to children or adults! Help teach ESL cooking or computer classes to newcomers to Canada.
  • ESL Kids: Sundays, 3:00-5:00pm
    Play soccer, hockey or make arts and crafts with elementary school aged children. Help preschoolers get ready for kindergarten while their parents take ESL classes.

Inner City Outreach

  • Village Kids

Village Kids is a free program offered to Low Income Children (families) in our community. It is run by Abby Free Church in partnership with Northview Community Church.

It is an after school ministry that is held on Thursdays at Abby Free Church from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. We desire to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to children in Abbotsford. We hope to form relationships with children through mentorship opportunities, offering Bible lessons, and activities such as sports and crafts. We are in need of people to serve in each area of this ministry.

  •  Public School Breakfast Program

Teams from Northview act as the hands and feet of Jesus, preparing and serving breakfast before the beginning of classes twice a week (volunteers choose which day) at a local public school. FoodSafe certification is an asset but not required. We are in need of 2-3 more volunteers yet for the 2017-2018 ministry year. See below for contact information.

Youth Abbotsford

Middle School oR High School Youth Leader

Looking to get involved? Do you want to join us as we build into teenagers and walk alongside them in their faith? Youth leaders are the backbone of youth ministry. They are the direct hands and feet of Jesus when it comes to the church ministry to youth. Leaders who love Jesus and share that love with students, create lasting meaningful relationships. Youth leaders have the opportunity to be teachers, role models, encouragers, and friends.

Praying for Others

Prayer Chain Member

Intercede for others through prayer requests sent by the Prayer Chain Coordinator. Prayer requests are emailed or phoned to the Coordinator, who sends the requests to the Prayer Chain.

Weekend Prayer Room  or   After-Service prayer team

Do you have a passion for praying for others? You can spend one service per weekend praying with and for people who come to the Prayer Room.

Imagine Supportive Care

Imagine

Our mission is to provide support to individuals of all abilities and connect them to God’s Word while getting other family members connected to the church community.

Service Opportunities:

  • Imagine volunteers are needed to work in a team setting providing supportive care in the Imagine Center at the Saturday and Sunday services.
  • Volunteers are needed to provide inclusive support for participants in the typical classroom.

Kitchen

Saturday Night Centre Court Meal

Work with a team serving once every 5 weeks helping to prepare, serve and clean up the Saturday evening meal.
Time commitment: 2:00pm – 6:30pm

Seasons Meal (Friday lunch once a month)

Once a month we prepare a meal for the Seasons ministry.

  • The meal prep team works 9:00am – 1:00pm.
  • The dishwasher team works 11:00am – 3:00pm.

High School Snack Food Prep – Thursday Nights

Twice a month High School youth meets at the church for their large group nights. Kitchen helpers are needed to prepare and sell light snacks and treats for students to enjoy at the end of the night.
Time commitment: 7:00pm – 9:15pm

Young Adults Snacks and Light Meals – Friday Nights

Young Adults meet twice a month on Friday evenings and need help to prepare snacks, and occasionally light meals for special events.
Time commitment: 6:00pm – 9:30pm

Miscellaneous

  • Special Events
    Occasionally we have need of help for special events such as Christmas drama’s, Christmas Eve services, Apologetics and other conferences, etc. If you would like to be on our list to serve on these special events, we’d love to have you!

 

  • Bakers
    Do you like to bake? Northview ministries are always in need of yummy treats to serve throughout the week. If you have time to come in and bake on weekdays, please fill out an application and let us know! These are very flexible times and frequency can be totally up to you!

 

  • Laundry, Cleaning, Stocking etc.
    We have a need for people who want to come in during the week and spend a couple hours helping with miscellaneous kitchen needs. Join our list of assistants!

Worship Teams

We are excited that you’re interested in being a part of our worship teams at Northview! It is a fun, challenging, and rewarding ministry. If God has gifted you with musical or technical talent, we want you to be able to use it for His glory!

This is a somewhat complex ministry with many moving parts and members are utilized in a variety of ministries in addition to our weekend services. These include age-specific ministries, such as Children’s Ministries and Youth, as well as Community Groups (our medium-sized home groups).
