What is the Marriage Preparation Course?

For any engaged couple who wants to develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage.

Northview Church hosts three Marriage Prep Courses each year – one in fall and two in Spring.
Our start dates for 2012-2013 courses are as follows: 

Fall:  TBA

Spring:  TBA

Please note:  All applications must be received two weeks prior to the start of class!!

The Marriage Preparation Course is for any engaged couple who wants to develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage.

Over 5 evenings spent together, you will learn important tools that will enable you to make your marriage work.  You will look at:

  * the importance of commitment
  * how to recognize and appreciate your differences
  * the art of communication
  * resolving conflict
  * spending time together
  * nurturing your friendship
  * making each other feel loved
  * developing a good sexual relationship
  * the importance of talking about your goals, values and dreams

The evenings are very relaxed.  There is dessert and coffee followed by short talks interspersed with exercises and questions for you to discuss together as a couple.

Each couple will also be required to complete an on-line Marriage Survey prior to the first class.  This is a very valuable tool, and the results of this survey will be made available to participants and their Mentor Couple.  The survey costs $40 per couple, and will be collected directly from participants when they access the website.
